Witnessing the Start of Stage 3: Volta a Catalunya 2025
An Unforgettable Morning at Viladecans The Style Outlets
Today, I arrived at Viladecans The Style Outlets, just south of Barcelona, to witness the team presentation and the start of Stage 3 of the 2025 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. As this was my first time attending such an event, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but I was eager to take in the experience firsthand.
I got there early, around 10 a.m., and was immediately struck by the scale of the setup. A stage was ready for the cyclists, and the parking lot was already full of team buses, support vehicles, and an extensive security and police presence. The buzz in the air was unmistakable—fans, journalists, and race officials all gathered, waiting for the teams to make their appearances.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the team presentations began. One by one, each team took the stage, with riders being introduced alongside their past accomplishments. The energy from the crowd was electric, with a large number of cycling enthusiasts showing up to cheer for their favorite riders. The presentation offered a rare up-close glimpse of the athletes before they embarked on what promised to be a grueling mountain stage.

As the clock approached 11:20 a.m., the atmosphere shifted. Spectators and media alike moved toward the start line, anticipating the race rollout. The teams lined up, and after a final countdown, the riders took off, followed closely by a fleet of team cars. Watching the peloton roll out was an exhilarating sight—the beginning of a 218.6 km challenge that would take them through significant climbs, including the Coll d’Estenalles and the final ascent to La Molina.
Experiencing the start of a professional cycling stage in person added a whole new dimension to my appreciation for the sport. Seeing the logistics, the excitement of the crowd, and the sheer presence of world-class athletes made for an unforgettable morning at the Volta a Catalunya.
