Els Llums de Sant Pau 2024: A Dazzling Celebration of Christmas Around the World
Experience Barcelona’s most magical holiday tradition with lights, culture, and festive surprises.
Barcelona’s Christmas wouldn’t be the same without Els Llums de Sant Pau, the beloved light show that transforms the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau into a magical wonderland yearly. From November 21 to January 12, this spectacular event is back with a fresh edition brimming with surprises under the theme “Christmas Around the World.”
This year’s show takes visitors on an enchanting journey through the Christmas traditions of countries like Mexico, India, Italy, New Zealand, Argentina, and more. Each stop on the trail is packed with cultural curiosities that you can explore with an interactive Christmas passport, stamped at each destination. Adding to the fun is Lumi, a delightful virtual character who will guide you via LED screens throughout the experience. This adventure is perfect for visitors of all ages and blends holiday cheer with cultural discovery.
Think you’ve seen it all? Think again! This year, Els Llums de Sant Pau introduces stunning new features and activities: welcome projections and a hot air balloon at the entrance to set the mood; an interactive light tunnel where you can hang lamps inscribed with your wishes for the year ahead; a cozy food market offering seasonal treats like hot chocolate, mulled wine, waffles, and candyfloss; a charity Christmas tree supporting the Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation, with donation options via QR codes; and photo hotspots to capture unforgettable memories. The 1-kilometer route is circular and self-guided, giving you the freedom to enjoy it at your own pace. Most visitors complete it in about 45 minutes to an hour.
