Apple Expands Podcasts with New Features Redefining Audio Entertainment


Apple is once again changing the game, this time in the world of podcasting. In a recent announcement, the tech giant introduced a host of new features for its Podcasts app, enhancing the way we consume audio content. Apple Music will now seamlessly integrate with Podcasts, offering subscribers the ability to follow their favourite shows, save episodes, receive notifications of new releases, and enjoy offline listening across all their devices. Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s global head of editorial, highlights the vast appeal of the platform: “There is truly something for everyone, which is why we’re excited to make it all available on Apple Podcasts.” Apple News+ subscribers will enjoy “Apple News+ Narrated” in the Podcasts app. This show features audio versions of select articles, narrated by professional actors, adding depth and richness to the content. Lauren Kern, Apple News’s editor-in-chief, expressed her enthusiasm for this development, noting that subscribers can now “enjoy narrated articles representing some of the best journalism from News+ publishers on Apple Podcasts as well as in Apple News.” This feature is currently available in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Australia, providing added value to Apple News+ subscriptions.
