In iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma, Apple News+ subscribers receive a fantastic new benefit: a daily crossword puzzle integrated directly into the News app. This feature includes both a standard crossword and a compact 5×5 “mini” crossword. While it’s a great addition, it’s not prominently displayed upon opening the News app, so let’s guide you on how to locate these crosswords in iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma.
Step 1: Open the News App and Navigate to the Following Tab: Upon launching the News app, you won’t immediately spot the Crossword feature. Start by tapping on the Following tab.
Step 2: Select ‘Puzzles’: At the top of the Following tab, you’ll see an option labeled ‘Puzzles.’ Despite its current focus on crosswords, Apple is keeping the door open for other types of puzzles in the future.
Step 3: Choose Your Crossword: In the News+ Puzzles section, you can pick from a list of recent daily crosswords and mini crosswords.
If you’re using MacOS Sonoma, you’ll find the ‘Puzzles’ section conveniently located in the sidebar. Just click on it and select the crossword you’d like to engage with. Enjoy your crossword-solving experience!
