The Simose Art Garden Villa is a newly opened destination in Hiroshima, Japan, stretching over an area of 4.6 hectares alongside the Seto Inland Sea. It consists of ten villas, a restaurant, and the Simose Art Museum, which is made up of three buildings and an 8.5m high “mirror glass screen”.
There is also a floating museum with eight movable exhibition rooms, each covered in colored glass, where guests can view works by masters such as Matisse, Chagall, and Kaii Higashiyama. Additionally, five ‘Waterside villas’ are located on the north side of the site, utilizing a unique ‘Kielsteg’ wooden stressed skin panel cross-section to function as a floor slab and wall, while five ‘Forest villas’ are nestled among trees on the south side, recreating four prominent projects from across the country and one newly designed ‘Cross Wall House’.
The aim of the destination is to provide a place where people can enjoy art and hospitality in iconic architecture.
