“Whenever you find yourself blaming providence, turn it around in your mind and you will see that what has happened is in keeping with reason.”

—EPICTETUS, DISCOURSES, 3.17.1

It is important to remember that we are not always aware of the larger plan that is guiding our lives, and that sometimes misfortune can lead to a better outcome in the future. It encourages us to accept that the events in our lives are part of a larger and unknowable reason, and that it is important to remain open to the possibility of unexpected positive outcomes.
