I bought a Cervélo Smartpak 400A – Top tube mounted storage box and it arrived today. It’s compatible with not with just Aspero bike but also with my Cervélo Caledonia which has mounting hardware built into the frame already (I had to only remove the plastic cover where the screws attach).
It’s a top tube mounted Benton box which is 9.5“ long x 2.5” tall, tapered towards the seat tube. I am not sure what I will use it for or how. But so far I was able to fit in it 2 Clif bars and SIS gel as well as small Lezyne Pocket Drive Hand Pump.
The waterproof rectangular bag has a sleek aero shape that matches tube profiles and width, integrating the bag with the frame design for impressive aero efficiency. A base plate mount is included for the Aspero frame. But it fits nicely inside of the bag as well so when you mount it on the inside it got the bag extra support. Overall I am very pleased with it and glad I bought it. You can’t have enough storage when you are out cycling around.
I will have a better idea about the usage and usefulness of it after a season of riding but for now it looks great, as it’s Cervélo branded top tube box on Cervélo Caledonia 105. It looks like a well made product that will last for a long time. It’s low profile and it has a good quality zipper.
