Arvind Sanjeev has developed the Ghostwriter typewriter, which is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 and is designed to be a poetic intervention that allows users to reflect on the creative relationship between humans and machines.
The typewriter has been built with an Arduino controller and Raspberry Pi, and users are able to interact with it through the written word and adjust the AI’s responses with two physical knobs. Sanjeev hopes to opensource the project so that others can build their own, and he sees AI being used as a tool to automate mundane tasks in knowledge-based fields.
