AI Art – Japanese Memories

I have been playing around with Dall-E, which is a new AI system that can create realistic images and art from a description in natural language. It’s a lot of fun and exciting at the same time.

The ability to create original, sometimes accurate, and occasionally inspired images from any spur-of-the-moment phrase, like a conversational Photoshop, has startled even jaded internet users with how quickly AI has progressed. Five months later, 1.5 million users are generating 2 million images a day.

I thought I would use it to recreate moments from short memories I had when I was in Japan. This is one of them, based on a memory stuck in my head. The test used to describe it for Dall-E was as follows: “Temple with monks meditating during early morning hours”. AI created the following digital art based on this text for me, there are four different variations:

Love them… and I cannot wait to see what else Artificial Intelligence will bring in the future. I may occasionally recreate more of these short memories in form of art pieces using AI through the Dall-E project.
